Verdict:
The ‘there is no easy answer’ end to this series is realistic and satisfying. Excellent idea well executed.

Verdict:
The emotional trauma is very organic and the plot continues apace despite second book syndrome. Good twists. The terminology and world-building continues to be fantastic.

Verdict:
The use of diplomacy and the conspiracy to explore international relations is quite interesting, especially as this book was written in the 90s and much of the way the world fit together has changed since then.

Verdict:
A well-built world with excellent ‘science’ behind it, fast-paced story and characters you care for, especially because they're ready to be bastards when they need to be.

Verdict:
Laid out nicely, painting the city without overwhelming the reader or the story with description. The characters are well drawn.
